Mothers and Daughters
2023
Tbilissi, Georgia
Grandmothers, mothers, daughters, granddaughters.
Generations of women, connected through time.
Experiences, rituals, transgenerational trauma, patterns.
What do mothers pass on to their daughters?
What can they change—what do they want to change?
How do women navigate questions of self-determination
within a persistent patriarchal system?
Mothers who encourage, who may not always approve
of their daughters’ choices, yet stand by them—
quietly, yet unwaveringly, offering their support.
These portraits of female family lines were taken in Tbilisi, Georgia.
An ongoing project, started in 2023.
Installation view, f3 Gallery Berlin, 2024
